Happy New Year from BCIT Forensics!

We’ve got an exciting year ahead of us again, working on new curriculum in private investigation, financial fraud, and forensics-biochemistry. Here are a few highlights from last year and something to look forward to in 2017.

CSI: BCIT
BCIT hosted the first ever Forensic summer field school in 2016. Undergraduate students from California State University came to experience a mock crime scene exercise, practice using devices, compare legal systems across borders, and even try moot court testimony.

Forensic nursing pioneers
We always celebrate November’s Forensic Nursing Week with pride. Find out about the role our faculty have played as pioneers in this field, and where our students hope to go next.

World-class accreditation
BCIT is now the
only academic institution in Canada to earn forensic lab accreditation from the Standards Council of Canada – the same level of accreditation held by the RCMP’s Forensic DNA lab. This is no small thing. How did we get here? Watch the video below to find out.

New path to forensics career
BCIT and Northwest Community College (NWCC) in Terrace, BC are making it easier for students from BC’s north to pursue a forensics career. Find out how.

Look what we can do
